The iPad is the perfect computing device for older generations who are less technologically capable, but want to be able to keep in touch with their friends and family online. Ease of use and affordability are only two reasons why Grandma should be buying an iPad.
I wouldn’t say that iBooks has totally changed my reading experience, but it certainly has enhanced it. If you own an iPad and haven’t checked out iBooks yet, I highly recommend you try it out. And for those of you who are thinking about waiting to get the new iPhone 4 instead of an iPad, be sure to check out iBooks on the iPhone.
Apparently Steve Jobs is as much the Wizard of Oz of the computer world as he ever was, because conference attendees were wowed by the eight points Jobs discussed in regards to the new iPhone 4. It would seem that much of what everyone thought they knew about the newest iPhone upgrade was smoke and mirrors for the real magic that is soon to be released.
Before purchasing a 3G iPad (and apparently, you should at least order one this weekend if you want to take advantage of the outgoing AT&T unlimited data plan option), my suggestion is to truly consider your need for it. If you plan on using your iPad primarily in areas with decent WiFi capabilities, choosing to go with a 3G could be wasting money you could use instead towards some cool iTunes store purchases.
If you are considering purchasing an iPad, I will suggest that you also plan on purchasing some sort of stand for it as well.
